Learn How to Measure Your Control Pause and Positive Maximum Pause
The Control Pause is the length of time after inhalation until a first impulse to breathe in again. It helps us to understand for how long you feel comfortable to stay without air. The Control Pause is supposed to be effortless. The Positive Maximum Pause requires a little effort and normally is longer than the Control Pause. Please watch these video clips for precise instructions offered by Roshni Thompson, our Buteyko Mentor. Avoid a typical mistake of not breathing for too long! The best time to measure your Control and your Positive Maximum Pauses is just after you wake up in the morning when your breathing is in its most natural state.
