How to learn and apply the Buteyko Method? The first step in learning to apply the Buteyko Method is the Initial Assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to help the client (and members of his/her family) evaluate the potential effects of the Buteyko Method in his/her life. During this 30-minute individual consultation, which can be done over the Internet, or at our center in Woodstock, NY, a certified Buteyko Specialist will observe the client's breathing and learn his/her health history. They will also briefly explain the Theory of the Method, as well as give the client an opportunity to ask questions. From the information gathered during this session, the Buteyko Specialist will create an individualized program for each client. Normally, it includes our main course Buteyko Method and Lifestyle (read the description), which provides all the necessary tools to improve one’s health. However, on occasion, other programs such as Psychological Counseling, Buteyko in Motion and others, are recommended to further enhance the client's Buteyko experience. In 2009, due to numerous requests, Clinica Buteyko(in Moscow) established its official representation in the USA in the form of an educational organization named Buteyko Center USA. Clinica Buteyko was founded by Konstantin Buteyko, Ludmila Buteyko, PhD and Andrey Novozhilov, MD, the Honorable Masters of the patented Buteyko Method. Today, Clinica Buteyko is a major institute, which helps people increase the quality of their life and health.
Sasha and Thomas Yakovlev-Fredricksen traveled to Russia, where they were trained at Clinica Buteyko to become certified teachers of the patented Buteyko Method. Upon their return to Woodstock, New York, they created Buteyko Center USA.
